i recently joined the bee pieceful quilting bee on flickr. the first month's fabrics arrived in my mailbox yesterday and i couldn't wait to get started on carol's blocks. she (obviously) chose halloween as her theme and we could choose any pattern we wanted. a few minutes ago, i finished up the first block i'm going to make her and hopefully i'll have enough fabric to put together one more 12.5" square. it'll have to be something out of my head, like a wonky log cabin, to use what scraps i have left. this block pattern is called "tombstone quilt" - perfect for halloween.
i've already started collecting fabrics and trying to decide what to do for my month. i've got 5 more months to figure it out, so i'm sure i'll make some changes along the way. i found some great austrailian fabrics and i might use those in combination with some great blenders.
